Catch the light. Find your flow.

Glowline is a single-player browser arcade game by Forty Dept., currently free to play. No account, download or credit card is needed. Ads, purchases, leaderboards and cloud saves are not enabled.

How to play

You are the purple orb near the bottom. Tap a lane or use the Left / Middle / Right buttons to move. On a keyboard, use ← →, A / D, or 1 / 2 / 3. Catch green lights and avoid orange blocks marked with ×. A collision costs one heart; a short protection period gives you time to recover. The run ends when all three hearts are gone. Choose “Play again” to start a fresh run immediately.

Surviving earns 2 points per second. Lights are worth 10 base points. Every 5 consecutive lights raises your multiplier, up to ×5. A missed light or collision resets the streak. Speed and obstacle density increase gradually, and each row has a safe lane. Use Space, P, Escape or the pause button to pause. Switching tabs also pauses the game.

Privacy and local scores

The game runs in your browser. It only tries to store this browser’s best score in localStorage (forty-glowline-v1-best). The English and Traditional Chinese pages on this site use the same best-score key. There are no game-event uploads, third-party tracking scripts, accounts or cross-device records. Clearing site data clears your best score. If storage is blocked, you can still play, but your best may be lost when you close or reload the tab.

Our hosting provider may process ordinary request information to deliver the site and prevent abuse, such as IP address, browser information and request time. This does not mean we have player analytics. Sound is off by default and must be enabled by you; device restrictions may prevent it from playing. The game contains moving objects. It respects reduced-motion settings for decorative effects, while the core lanes still move.

Sharing and optional feedback

After a run, you can choose to copy your score, time, lights, best streak and a public game link. Supported browsers also offer a system share dialog. Nothing is posted, emailed or uploaded automatically. If you choose a sharing service, that service handles delivery under its own policies.

Feedback is prepared and previewed in the current tab. Your score is not included unless you choose it, and device details are not collected automatically. Copy the text into your email or open an email draft, review it, then send it yourself. Cancelling does not send anything. Replaying, changing language or closing the page clears an unsent feedback draft. The language link is shown before and after a run.
